Super Sitters Workshop

Rappahannock County 4-H is offering a Super Sitters’ workshop. This program is geared to teach 12 to 19-year -olds how to become great babysitters. Participants will learn skills to help them work well with children of various ages and abilities, hyper or unhappy children, knowing when to call the parents, safety concerns, knowing what to charge per hour, and learning a bag of tricks that they can take with them to any babysitting job. Plus, any parent would be excited to hire someone who has taken this workshop. This workshop is FREE for anyone 12 -19 years of age. Once we have at least five people interested in participating, we will schedule a Sat for participants to meet for one six hour day. If you would like more information about this workshop, please call Jenny Kapsa, 4-H Coordinator, at the Extension office at 540-675-3619.

You Can "Make a Difference"

Do you want to give back to your community this holiday season? Do you feel blessed to have so much and want to share your blessings? The RSVP program (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) is wanting to "Make A Difference" in the lives of seniors in our community. During the month of November, large brightly wrapped collection boxes will be in place around the county in which to deposit non-perishable items. Hackieys Country Store in Amissville, 211 Quicke Mart in Washington, the Rappahannock Library, the Rappahannock Coop, Settle's in Flint Hill and the Sperryville Comer Store will house the boxes. We are asking for donations of ail sorts to box up and deliver to county seniors, including groceries, toiletries, and miscellaneous items that would help out and "Make a Difference."
