my hospital stay, overall, I am so grateful for the entire staff at Fauquier Hospital, including volunteers. The work is not easy. Not every patient has patience. I suppose that we who are healing in a hospital bed experience a sense of vulnerability. We are in pain; we are connected to various tubes; we cannot move as we would want. We need someone to make sine we have food, adequate oxygen, medications, assistance in taking care of personal needs. We trust our injured bodies to the care of others. I am used to taking care of myself. But there are times when I know that I must simply “let go” and allow others to be servants and caregivers and healers and ministers to me.
To be honest with you, it is rather pleasant! I truly believe that by receiving so much good care throughout my recovery, I will be a much better care giver when all is said and done.
You know, there may be another reason why there has been no column for two weeks - no news! Well, there is plenty of news, but quite a few of the news makers around town don’t want anything put in the paper about their comings and goings. This has been a challenge for us! We are eager to report news from families and individuals, businesses and churches, friends and strangers. Please call us with your news!
