It won’t be like high school —your parents won’t scold you if you don’t come home with an A.
You’ll get out of the house, meet people, and who knows, you may just learn something.
Non-credit classes at area community colleges can help you stay active in the dreary winter months. And with a new educational facility in Culpeper — about 20 minutes from the south-east corner of Rappahannock — county residents have more classes and locations than ever to choose from.
As a cherry on top, Virginia residents 60 years or older can enroll for free in up to three courses.
Gwen Hays and her husband Clyde Humphrey took two semesters of sign language last year. The two run a llama farm in Castleton.
“I liked the fact that the community college was much more interested in the people and had better teachers than I had expected,” Hays said.
