The polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. for the referendum on the method of selecting school board members set for Tuesday, June 17.
Polling places are the court house in Washington for Hampton District, the fire hall in Chester Gap and fire hall in Flint Hill for Wakefield District, the fire hall in Amissville for Jackson District, the fire hall in Sperryville for Piedmont District and the Sunday School room of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Scrabble for Stonewall-Hawthorne District.
All officers of election are reminded to report to their assigned polling places at 5:30 a.m. on June 17. Chief officers of election are to pick up ballots at the court house in Washington at 4 p.m. on June 16.
On the ballot is a single question: whether to change the method of selecting school board members from the current procedure of appointment by the trustee electors to appointment by the board of supervisors.
