In the Fauquier Pony League, Amissville shutout The Plains 2-0 last Wednesday at Amissville. Gary Settle was the winning pitcher striking out. 10 and walking three.
Amissville scored its runs in the sixth as Lee Anderson walked, stole second and made it to third on a single by Andrew Ellis. Vincent Aylor hit a sacrifice fly to right center, scoring Anderson.
The second run came when Ellis scored from second as Tony - Clatterbuck reached first on an error. John Embrey was the losing pitcher.
The win marks Amissville’s second shutout of the season and the team has not had any earned runs scored against it.
