To the editor:
I would like to express my opinion concerning the upcoming vote on the Referendum that will give the people an opportunity to choose whether or not they would like to change the present system of selecting school board members. The very opportunity to make this choice is a progressive step in the right direction.
The basic reason we should vote to change the present system is to give people the opportunity to have a greater voice in such matters. 1 have never understood the reasoning behind the cumbersome system that we presently are shackled with, a judge appointing board members who in turn appoint the school board, which seems so unnecessary.
A system that would be much more efficient is proposed in the referendum, one which so many of our counties across the state are
