Washington attorney Peter H. Luke has been named as a substitute judge and special justice in an order signed June 10 by chief circuit court judge Carlton Penn.
Luke will sit on the bench in Rappahannock. Fauquier and Loudoun counties, the twentieth judicial circuit, as substitute judge for a term of six years. In his additional capacity as special justice, his primary duty will be to preside at commitment hearings.
