—Contact your home insurane agent to determine if your policy has any restrictions on the use of kerosene heaters.
—Kerosene heaters burn with an open flame and portions of the heater’s cabinet can cause serious burns if touched. Remind your children not to touch the heater or play with its controls.
—Do not use flammable liquids like solvents, lacquers or gasoline in the same room with an operating kerosene heater.
