He reported that sheriff W. A. Buntin has agreed to ask the state compensation board once again to fund dispatch positions since he feels there are advantages to having his department dispatched locally rather than by Culpeper.
Leggett added that he hasn’t been able to locate another county in the state without its own dispatch system. "The compensation board might be hard pressed to justify treating Rappahannock County different from the rest of the state,” he said.
