Road Funds Sought
Resident engineer Don Askew informed the supervisors that under current funding projections the county can expect $168,000 for improvements and construction on its secondary roads in 1982-83 and $68,000 in 1983-84. "For 1984-85 and on. there are no funds for improvements to the secondary system," he noted.
To address that shortfall, the highway department has proposed a supplemental funding plan to the General Assembly which will give Rappahannock $391,000 for its secondary system in 198384 with increases as well in the following years to return the county to its 1979-80 level of funding, according to Askew.
