Wharton
Funeral services for Walter Edward Wharton, 88, of Castleton were conducted Wednesday at the GeestJohnson Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper by the Rev. Richard Woodward. Burial was in Sperryville Cemetery.
Mr. Wharton died Sunday, January 31. 1982, at Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal. He was a farmer, a native of Rappahannock County and the son of the late Broadus and Mattie Peyton Wharton.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Salley Ethel Wharton; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Estelle Southard and Miss Rosie Mae Wharton, both of Castleton; two sons, Archie Edward Wharton of Williamstown, N. J., end Clarence Lee Wharton of Amissville; 15 grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.
