Buntin replied that he would still require the landowner to swear out a warrant. “I’d have no way of knowing if he (the trespasser) had seen the posted signs.”

Game warden Jim Bankston maintained that shortening the hunting season to two weeks in Rappahannock would “only compress the problem.” He said that out-of-county hunters will still continue to hunt in Rappahannock. "During those two weeks, you won’t be able to go outside your doors—you’ll be dodging bullets!”
