To the editor:
During the January 27th meeting with the Board of Supervisors I presented the recommendations of a committee appointed by the Board to suggest means to assist in solving the recent deer road hunting incidents which occurred in the Castleton area.
An honest difference of opinion arose between Sheriff Buntin and landowners pertaining to details and policy ' concerning the maintenance of law and order, which we feel should have controlled such actions.
My remarks on this subject were not intended, nor should they be interpreted, to reflect adversely on the motivation or the character of a fine and honorable man. Sheriff Buntin has given a lifetime of service to this community and has laid his life on the line many times as a state policeman and our Sheriff. We owe him much.
