Representatives from the Rappahannock board of supervisors, sheriff's department and fire and rescue units will try once again this year to persuade the state compensation board to pay staffing expenses of a county dispatch center.
Gene Leggett, from the county’s fire and rescue association, told the supervisors that equipment costs will be covered by the $11,600 matching grant awarded by the Virginia Rescue Squad Assistance Fund plus $5,000 committed by the board.
