Homecoming And Revival
Homecoming services will be held at Gid Brown Bible Church near Washington on Sunday, June 6, beginning at 10 a.m. Guest speakers for the day will be Pastor Edward Morgan from Princeton, W. Va., Pete Hengel from Spencer, N. C. Jimmy Robertson, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Culpeper and Vinton Williams, pastor of Trinity Baptist in Warrenton. Revival services will be held from June 7-12 each evening at 7:30. Pastor Jerry Whiteheart from Walkertown, N. C. will be guest preacher for the week. There will be special singing, a nursery will be available and transportation can be arranged by calling the pastor, John K. Burke at 675-3662. The public is cordially invited.
Burke Reunion
The families of the late Charles Lewis and Bessie Jenkins Burke will have their annual reunion Sunday June 13, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Rappahannock Recreation Center near Washington. Friends and family members are urged to attend Lunch will be served at 12:30.
Stewards Sing At Willis
The Rappahannock United Methodist Churches will host the gospel singing quartet, the Stewards, on Wednesday, June 9, at Willis Chapel Church in Huntly.
Headquartered in Front Royal, the Stewards include bass Glenn Smith, baritone Roger Figgins, lead singer Benny Roach and tenor Danny Figgins. They have traveled extensively up and down the east coast and this fall, are scheduled to perform on the west coast.
In the meantime, they have signed a promotional contract with Windchime. Inc., of Nashville, Tenn., and will be recording their third album this summer in Nashville.
A covered dish supper will begin Wednesday's event at 6:30 p.m. with the musical program to follow at 7:30. The congregation of Rappahannock's United Methodist Churches invites the public to join them for the evening.
