Vasili (Gus) Chelmis of Castleton died Monday, May 31, 1982, at his residence. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at Smith and Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Norfolk. Burial was in Forest Lawn cemetery, Norfolk. Mr. Chelmis was born August 9, 1904 in Cardiff, Wales. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Colesby Chelmis; one brother, Peter Chelmis of England and two sisters, Maria Sexton of Norfolk and Bessie Hadules of Seminole, Fla.
