Bob Haase brought the championship trophy from the 10th Annual Charles CityInvitational Horseshoe Tournament back to Rappahannock after tossing his way to victory during the twoday competition held May 14 and 15 near Richmond.

Haase, one of the tournament's founding fathers, has tried for the title seven times previously. “My best before was third place and that year I was eliminated by the same fellow I played in the finals this time, Cornpy Groff. He lives in South Carolina now but he used to come all the way from Hawaii for the tournament.”
