Frank Huff Jr. and Kenny Pullen, both members of the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. conducted an emergency medical training (EMT) class at the Flint Hill fire hall in which the trainees achieved an impressive 92 percent certification rate.
The class took place on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 10 p.m. Although the state requires only 81 hours of study, the 3S students who took the course put in over 100. The extra time paid off, however, as 34 of the 37 who took final examinations passed and are now certified EMT technicians. A majority of the students taking the course were from Rappahannock County, according to Huff.
The class included twc Saturdays with stints of t hours plus another class ir the emergency room ai Warren Memorial Hospital.
