After successfully completing VASAP, Wayne Allen Atkins of Sperryville had charges of driving under the influence reduced to improper driving. Judge Alexander levied a $25 fine plus court costs on the Sperryville man.
He also gave bofh defendants a general warning that they had better be more careful after July 1 when tougher drunk driving laws passed by the last session of Virginia’s General Assembly take effect. After that date, charges such as those lodged against the two men will not be reduced, the Judge noted.
