They’ve made a deliberate attempt to be individuals rather than a duo. “We quit wearing our hair the same way in high school," Sharon said. "And we don’t have too many of the same clothes. We don’t try to dress alike."
“But sometime we wear the same thing without planning to,” Sheila added.
Even though they try not to look identical, people sjill have trouble telling thfm apart although the twins insist they’ve never tried to confuse anyone on purpose, not even a substitute teacher. “They know we’re different but they can’t remember which name goes with which face. Even our mother had trouble telling us apart every once in a while when we were younger,” Sharon said.
Looking at baby pictures, it’s easy to understand why. One round little face topped with whispy blonde hair is the double of the other. The exact likeness is there in snapshots of the twins until they're about nine when the cheeks of one began to be just the slightest bit thinner.
