The Rappahannock-Rapidan Planning District Commission has been awarded a $23,693 state grant to establish and operate a regional ridesharing program for the planning district.
Approval of the funding request was made July 21 by the Virginia Highway and Transportation Commission. Funds will cover administrative and advertising costs associated with program start-up and implementation as well as capital expenses for the purchase of roadsigns and microcomputer components.
