Regular high school diploma requirements will jump from 18 units of study to 20 units for students entering high school in 1984. Those students will also have to finish at least two years of math, two years of science and another year of either math or science.
This year, the Rappahannock supervisors cut the proposed school budget, forcing elimination of an additional math teacher from the 1983-84 staff. Next year, that position and possibly others will be necessary in order to satisfy the new curriculum requirements.
