Charles Atkins

World War II Veteran

Charles Henry Atkins, 74, of Sperryville, died Tuesday, August 2, 1983, at the Veterans Hospital in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

He was a retired farmer. Mr. Atkins was a veteran of World War II. He was a native of Rappahannock County. His parents were the late Herbert and Lena D. Atkins.

He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Helen Atkins of Flint Hill; Miss Lucille Atkins of Washington, Va.; Mrs. Lecie Leake of Sperryville; one brother, Cecil E. Atkins of Washington, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Clore Funeral Home Chapel, Culpeper, at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 4. The Rev. Kirby Shenk will officiate. Interment will be in Sperryville Cemetery, Sperryville, Va.
