Mrs. Esther Lee Smith Early, 80, of Warrenton, died on Thursday, July 28, 1983, at Fauquier Hospital.
Born at Oakwood Farm in Warrenton on July 25, 1903, she was the widow of Herbert Franklin Early, Sr. She was a retired teacher.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Green of Fairfax; eight sons, Alan D. Early and Donald F. Early, both of Fairfax, Robert E. Early and Stephen G. Early, both of Warrenton, William S. Early of Alexandria, John F. Early of Amissville, Richard C. Early of Culpeper and Warren B. Early of Broad Run; 29 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her stepmother, Mrs. Evie G. Smith of Manassas; one stepson, Herbert F. Early, Jr. of Goodyear, Arizona; three brothers, Henry H. Smith of Bealeton, Albert N. Smith of Richmond and John C. Smith of Sarasota, Florida and two half-sisters, Catherine S. Early of Bealeton and Ann S. Arbuckle of Lewisburg, West Virginia.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday at Bealeton Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Williams S. Cole. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Bealeton.
