The women at the News held a farewell luncheon on July 26th for Kaye Carbone, of Castleton, as well as for writer Theresa Reynolds. Kaye spent her last week working with her replacement, new advertising representative Jeanne Harrison, and introducing her to our friends in several counties. The luncheon featured fresh vegetables from the garden of Barbara Burke, who has a real touch with tomatoes.
They reminded us of what they say in Aunt Michele’s favorite song (if you haven’t heard it, call up Joe Boucher and ask him to play it for everyone in Castleton), “There just ain’t nothing like home-grown tomatoes.”
