Miss will compete with other county finalists in communications, evening gown and interview for the state title and crown of Virginia Teen Miss; plus a $1,000 cash scholarship award.
To qualify as a contestant, young women must be or have been a student in grades 7 thru 12 in 1983, a resident of the county in which she is applying and a USA citizen of good character and standing in the community.
