Harvest Supper At
Forest Grove
The Forest Grove Baptist Church in Viewtown will have its annual harvest supper at the Old Forest Grove School House on Saturday, November 19 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. for the benefit of the church.
The menu will be Old Virginia ham and turkey, gravey and dressing, sweet com, green beans, beets, sweet potatoes, baked apples, sauerkraut, cole slaw, pickles, homemade rolls and breads, pies, tea and coffee.
All this home cooked food will be available for $6.00 for adults and carry-out boxes and $3.00 for children under twelve. Tickets may be purchased from members of the church, Mrs. Sarah Jenkins at Jenkins Garage in Amissville, 937-4962 or at the door on Saturday evening.
“Bring your family and friends and enjoy this old fashion supper,” said Rev. Alexander C. Walker, pastor of Forest Grove Church.
Say Amen, Somebody
Say Amen, Somebody, a stirring film recounting the history of gospel music, will be shown this Saturday and Sunday at the Gay Street Theater in Washington. This movie, currently running in Washington, has met with critical and popular approval throughout the country. Arch Campbell gave it four stars! Saturday at 8:00; Sunday at 7:00; both at the Gay Street Theater. Note change from previous schedule.
Bazaar Planned
A Calico and Mistletoe Christmas Bazaar is planned for Friday, December 2, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Culpeper. Luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Handmade items, Christmas decorations, dried flower arrangements, white elephants and baked goods, will be offered at this popular event sponsored by the Episcopal Churchwomen.
