Mrs. Laura Elizabeth Jenkins, 97, died Saturday, November 12, 1983, in the Shawnee Springs Nursing Home at Winchester.
Graveside services were conducted on Tuesday at the Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Winchester by the Rev. Mark Ogren.
Mrs. Jenkins was born December 25, 1885, in Rappahannock County, daughter of the late James H. and Laura Mildred Peyton. She had been a self-employed seamstress.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Wilson of Winchester and Laura Frances Baker of Berryville; a foster daughter, Lottie Seal of Winchester; two sons, Arthur Jenkins of Winchester and Robert Jenkins of Charlottesville; 49 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
