Heforo retiring for the night, fill a crock pot or slow cooker with peeled, cored and sliced apples. Cover the pot tightly (so moisture doesn’t escape and leave apple butter to dry out and burn) and turn on low setting.

The next morning, the apples should be cooked down into a thick, dark Imt ter. Add sugar and spices to taste. Stir and cook for an hour more, ladle into hot, sterilized jars. Process for required length of time m boiling water bath.
