And yet the RCHS class of ’84, under the most able direction of Don Bomberger, has succeeded in mounting a production worthy of a Stratford festival. His delicate lighting design elicited the midsummer atmosphere with the woods at night simply suggested by a scrim in front of a spotlight moon. The lines were delivered letter perfect, a result of what must have been months of memorization and rehearsal. The glorious costumes designed by Judy Bomberger and constructed by Betty Sisk from fabric donated by the Aileen plant in Flint Hill enhanced the impression that the audience had been transported into the dream world inhabited by fairies, kings and queens.
It’s a pity that the play only ran two nights after so much work was put into it.
