• Workers Compensation Break
A new law on workers compensation could give farmers and horticulturalists a break on costs, according to the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation.
As of July 1, 1984, “farmers will be required to carry workers corap only if they regularly employ more than two full-time employees,” Delegate William T. Wilson, sponsor of the measure, said.
The new law clean up conftision that often arose under the previous law, which stated that farmers had to carry workers comp if they’d developed a payroll of $15,000 or more during the previous year, and if at least two employees were “full-time.”

For those still laboring over Federal income tax, assistance is available year-round, the IRS in Richmond reports. Rappahannock residents can call the IRS toll-free number, 1-800-424-1040, Monday through Friday, from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Individuals calling about tax accounts and notices or other correspondence are asked to have a copy of the notice and their social security number available.
