A request by Ruth Bowers to extend the permit for the temporary trailer that she and Robert Bowers were using as a home led to a discussion by the board and by neighbors present of shooting at the home site in Amissville. The Bowen own and operate Blue Ridge Guns just next to their home.
Bowers explained that her home and business had burned down in a tragic lire. Reconstruction, she explained, centered around the business first. Their focus on rebuilding the business had prevented them from building their home on schedule.
In response to questioning, Bowers said that she expected to break ground within the next few months.
