Names Headmaster
The Grymes Memorial School Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of William T. Carrington, Jr. as headmaster effective July 1. Mr. Carrington succeeds Clarke Worthington III, -who wiD be joining his family in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Grymes Memorial School is an independent, co-ed elementary day school founded in 1947. One-hundred-thirty children from five counties and the city of Fredericksburg are enrolled at the Spicer’s Mill, Orange campus.
Mr. Carrington, 49, is a graduate of St. Christopher’s School, Richmond, and Hampden-Sydney College. He holds a master’s degree in history from Columbia University and has completed course work at the University of Richmond for a master’s in secondary school administration. Carrington taught for seven years as an adjunct faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University while pursuing his full-time teaching career at St. Christopher’s School where he joined the faculty in 1961. Mr. Carrington has served as assistant to the headmaster at St. Christopher’s since 1975.
