Young Dominion Concert

The Young Dominion will present a concert on Sunday, June 3, at the Fauquier County High School in Warrenton. Showtime is 2:30 and 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $2.50 each and may be purchased at the door.

Spring Program and Graduation

The public is invited to attend the spring school program and graduation ceremonies at the Child Care and Learning Center on June 4 at 5:45 p.m. The upper preschool class will be performing a play entitled, “Where the Wild Things Are”. The two-year-old class and the lower preschool will each be making special presentations.

Basketweaving Workshop

Janet Kerig, a local craftsperson who is often featured at Glen Echo and whose works have appeared at the Design Center in Washington, D.C. and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, is offering a one-day workshop making a melon basket of wild grapevine and reeds. The session will be devoted to completing a basket.

The workshop will be presented at the Rappahannock Recreation Center in two sections— on May 26 for adults and on June 23 for children—and will run from 9:30 to 5:30 on each day. The cost will be $40, and pre-registration is required. All participants should bring a lunch.

RAAC Talent Showcase

Mark your calendar for the long-awaited, starstuffed evening of dance, poetry, music, singing and acting topped off with a street-dance that will celebrate the many unique talents in Rappahannock.

Tennis Tournament

Entries for a county-wide tennis tournament are due by June 8. Mens’ and Womens’ singles and doubles and mixed doubles categories are planned, provided enough people register for eight teams per category. The tournament entry fee is $4 per person; all county residents are welcome. For more information, contact Jean Lillard at 675-3670.

Conway Class To Begin

Betty Jenkins of Sperryville is planning a Conway diet class at the Sperrvyille fire hall beginning on Wednesday, June 6 at 10 a.m. Anyone interested in joining should contact Betty at 987-8938.

Child Safety Program

The Va. Federation of EMS Councils/ Rappahannock-Rapidan Region, is sponsoring a Child Safety Seat Tethering Training Program for community service organizations that wish to hold public clinics for installation of Child Safety Seats. The 4 hour course will be held June 2, 1984 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Madison County Rescue Squad building. For more information contact Gary Rosson, at the Va.
