I have him on the wall in my bedroom so I decided to write about him. I finished it in probably an hour,” Brendan said.
The award presentation was at the International Reading Association’s Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 10. “We looked into going down to pick up our award in person but the cost was prohibitive,” Connifey said.
“Another thing is that I would have missed school,” the young scholar added. “If it had been in the summer, I know I would have been able to go!”
