Miss Marion Massie Eastham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Eastham of Amissville, received a B.S. degree in nursing with honors from the University of Virginia on Sunday, May 20. She participated in a pinning ceremony for the nursing class on the Saturday evening prior.

A great round of applause goes out to the Rappahannock County High School’s production of “The Sound of Music” which was performed last weekend. Jim McCullough, our fine actor from Castleton, gave an outstanding performance as Max Detweiler. Congratulations to the cast!
The Castleton Fire Department is having an important meeting on June 6th in the fire hall at 7 p.m. All members are urged to attend and all residents are cordially invited.
Frank Grimsley, one of Castleton’s original residents, is a patient at the V.A. hospital in Mart insburg, W. Va. He would certainly eiyoy hearing from his good old neighbors , and friends. Frank and Doris Donald just got home from a glorious seven day trip traveling from state-to-state in their large camping van to the once Cherokee land of Northeastern Georgia. They visited Doris’s sister, Annie Dell Bigham of Gainesville, Ga., and they all went to the Amicalola Falls State Park and spent a few days in a lovely cottage at the bottom of the falls. Plunging 729 feet, Amicalola Falls is the second highest waterfall in the United States. They could hear the whirling, rushing water from their cottage at night.
