On my own, I decided to make one last try for merkles on the Saturday before Easter Sunday, and invited my neighbor Dennis Fairbrother to come with me. He has blue eye. He brought his two-year-old daughter who also has blue eyes. I welcomed her, believing that innocence might help in the search for meikles. He hlso brought three brown-eyed golden retrievers. We found no merkles, but decided to go to the Easter morning sunrise service the next day on Red Oak Mountain.
