Ballet
Ballet dancer Philip Salto ns tall Rosemond, who was visiting the county, discussed his experience, dreams and rewards of being a professional performer in the dance world. At 29, he is a senior soloist for the Cincinnati-New (Means City Ballet, a new company which combines the resources of two small cities in order to bring high quality dance to both places.
Saltonstall’s desire to dance has taken him from the Washington Ballet School when he was 16 to study and performing in New York, Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. His greatest dream was to become a principal for the American Ballet Theater, but his sights changed as that opportunity eluded him. He would still like to dance with a major company such as the Joffrey after, hopefully, becoming a principal for the Cincinnati Ballet.
