Amissville Auction Set An auction benefiting the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be held on Saturday, September 15 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the fire hall. Donations would be greatly appreciated and may be picked up by calling 937-4108, 937-5205,937-5125 or 937-5282.
Benefit Dance A benefit dance will be held on Saturday, September 15 from 9 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Front Royal Elk Lodge. Music will be provided by the Four Score and there will be a charge of $10 per couple. Proceeds will benefit the Chester Gap Ladies Auxiliary. The dance is open to the public.

Jaycee Women Sponsor Trip The Culpeper Jaycee Women are sponsoring a shopping trip to the Burlington, North Carolina outlets on Saturday, November 3. The cost per person will be $21. Settle Family Reunion The Settle family reunion will be held on Sunday, September 23 beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Park near Washington. All relatives and friends are invited to attend and bring a covered dish and a beverage. Arts And Craft Festival Plans for the 13th annual Arts and Crafts Festival to be held on Saturday, October 6 are being made by the Culpeper Extension Homemakers Clubs. The festival will be held at the Culpeper Enterprises in the Homemakers building on Route 29 South from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Area craft folks interested in demonstrating or selling are invited to join the homemakers. Gospel Concert Cancelled The gospel concert sponsored by the Promise Land Baptist Church which was scheduled for Sunday, Setpember 16 at 3 p.m. at the Gay Street Theatre has been cancelled.
Promise Land Homecoming The annual homecoming of Promise Land Baptist Church will be held on Sunday, September 23 at 3 p.m. at the church. The Rev. James R. Price and his congregation from Macedonia Baptist Church in Flint Hill will be guests. Dinner will be served and the public is invited.
