Ted’s greatest influence was in the film selection process where his knowledge and taste were invaluable in guiding our Committee to its final choices. He was a frequent salesman at the box office as well. We express our personal sense of loss to Georgia and to the Community and will, I know, be asking “What would Ted say,” as we move on to make our winter and spring choices in a few weeks.
Please remember that our films are open to any and all. The Film Club is only a name. Anyone can join by simply showing up at the theatre and buying our moderately priced tickets — for one, ten, or any number of admissions. Please come.

Authority member Doug Baumgardner said that the work involved “necessary information including plats showing where the collection lines will cross individual property.” A committee composed of Baumgardner, Donald Gore and Wayne Cilimberg was apfiointad to review the letters and the finished work when it arrives. “Essentially we are requiring the contractor to do less than expected so we want to see the finished product before deciding whether or not their assessment of how much we owe is correct,” Baumgardner said.
The WSA members were advised by Chairman Dennis that a letter has been drafted that will be sent to the State Water Control Board requesting a three-month extension to complete this phase of the project by Feb. 17, 1986.
Cilimberg told the members that Authority audit requests have been sent to area audit firms in Front Royal, Culpeper, Warrenton, Amissville and Orange. “It was not advertised in the newspaper, but it was sent to all area audit firms, and I think that that sufficiently fulfills all requirements,” Cilimberg said.
Hie Authority also took care of some bills and requested reimbursement for some costs. The Authority requested $3,680 from EPA in order to close out the money owed from the Step One project. “It will clean up the old Step One grant project, and I’m sure EPA would like to get it cleaned up and we would, too,” Chairman Dennis said. The Step One project goes back to 1976.
A $3,698.60 payment to Doug Baumgardner for legal work done from April 1964 to July 1984 was approved, and will be paid out of the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant. Another payment of $6,637.76 was approved for the Rappahannock-Rapidan Planning District Commission which will be paid for the most part out of EPA and HUD grants.
Other payments approved included $1,111.68 to Buchart-Horn, Inc., $63.11 to Bob Dennis, and $62.80 to the Fauquier Democrat Company.
The Authority also set a pre-bid conference date for interested contractors on Thursday, October 18 at 1 p.m. The conference is tentatively scheduled to be held at the Sperryville Fire Hall.
The next Authority meeting will be held on Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Washington Court House.
