Federation of Humane Societies, explained one purpose of the planning committee. “When the planning committee gets going, they can appoint people to start looking at bylaws,” he said.
Lane explained the many steps that need to take place, including incorporation, determining a name for the chapter, establishing non-profit status, appointing a board of directors and officers and outlining goals and objectives.
Hannon then called for planning committee volunteers. Seven people signed up: Waldron O’Connor, Bernie Dahlgren, Teddy Hannon, Vince Hannon, Carol Miller, Ann Sakalaucka and Pat Saltonstall. The planning committee hopes to add at least two more members not present at the September 6 meeting, who Hannon said they plan to contact.
