Due to the success of the Roberts’ Brothers Circus September 5, the Flint Hill Fire Department has added over $300 to its treasury.
“We had a very good turnout at the six o’clock show, and about half a house at eight o’clock,” said Mo Walker, fire department secretary. “We had more adults than children, and that was surprising to me.”

Senior Attends Meeting
In Richmond
\ •« Truman J. Keesey attended the first fall meeting of the Older Virginians for Action September 10. The meeting was held in Richmond at the capitol building.
Keesey said enthusiasm prevailed at the meeting, sparked by two Mondale/Ferraro staff volunteers who will work in the Commonwealth.
Preston Turner, a host of the Senior Task Force, led discussion of senior-citizen issues. Mr. Turner joined Mrs. Mary Ellen Cox at the meeting. Together, they serve as co-chairmen of the Senior Task Force. Both also are members of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging.
