Bill Myzk Named Great

Meadow Racing Secretary

William Myzk, a long-time steeplechasing follower, has left his position with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation to become the first Racing Secretary for the Inaugural Running of the Great Meadow Races, at Tbe Plains, Va., on October 29th. ,n*iu.

has been r—ssrrlring the 62-year history of the Virginia Gold Cup for the first book ever published on this classic steeplechase event. The Gold Cup will move to its new permanent Great Meadow home in May 1985.

A 35-year-old former Marine and CIA officer in Southeast Asia, Mr. Myzk has been a staff member at Colonial Williamsburg for the past 5 years and a close follower of the steeplechasing sport.

In his new poet, he will manage promotion, marketing, tickets and entries with a large team of professional and community volunteers working on the first running of the Great Meadow Races. He will work closely with Great Meadow General Manager, Dan Marvin.
