Guest: I think each year the General Assembly will continue to make an increase in the amount of money funded per pupil. As far as the formula itself, I don’t think that there’s any great move afoot to change the formula.
Certainly for the rural areas I’ve tried in the past to have the formula changed to allow the use of the land use tax in place of the full value tax in determining the ability to pay. This has not met with approval either in the Appropriations Committee or the Finance Committee, so we’ve not gotten anywhere with it.
