Three intersections in Reston are on Fairfax County’s “killer” list, The list contains the names of the most dangerous intersections in the county.
Sunrise Valley and South Lakes drives finished 15th out of 54 to take the top Reston “honors.” It was followed by Reston Avenue and Sunset Hills Road and Reston Avenue and Baron Cameron Avenue.
Loudoun Board To
Bid On Training Site
The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors authorized Monday night an offer of $5,000 per acre for up to 50 acres to build a fire and rescue training site.
After a series of complex negotiations and a countywide search over a period of more than five years, the board recently decided to acquire land east of Leesburg Airport to build the facility. However, the board was not satisfied with assessments of the land which ranged from $4,500 to $14,800 per acre and recently formed a negotiating team of two supervisors, the county administrator and the county attorney.
When completed, the center would provide classrooms and facilities for practical work for fire and rescue volunteers from Loudoun and surrounding counties such as Fauquier and Clarke.
