Mrs. Rose B. Dellinger, 76, of Castleton, died on Friday, April 5 in Alexandria.
A native of South Carolina, Mrs. Dellinger had lived in Castleton for many years. She was a member of Hope Hill Baptist Church and was a life time trustee of the church. She was the wife of the late James Perry Dellinger.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jehane Keys of Rixeyville and Mrs. Betty Settle of Reva; two sons, Jack Dellinger and Jim Dellinger, both of Alexandria; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Earl Barnett of Woodbridge and two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Hinson of Stafford and Mrs. Mary Stacy of Bostic, S.C.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at Hope Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Milton Switzer and Rev. Robert Rooper. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery at Culpeper.
Pallbearers were Buck Payne, Milton Switzer, Jr., Ronald Dodson, Robert Switzer, Leon Compton and Robert Haggerty.
Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
Willie Thomas
World War I Veteran
Willie Joel Thomas, 89, of Sperryville, died on Saturday, April 6 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
A native of Rappahannock County, Mr. Thomas was a retired farmer and a World War I veteran. He was the son of the late Samuel and Lillie Magdalene Fincham Thomas. His wife was the late Virgie Virginia Baker Thomas.
Survivors include two sons, Roy W. Thomas of Sperryville and Bobby L. Thomas of Bentonville; two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Mae Fincham of Sperryville and Mrs. Betty L. Wean of Woodbridge; 26 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at Thornton Gap Regular Baptist Church near Sperryville by the Rev. Kirby Shenk. Burial was in Washington Masonic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry Lee Thomas, Roy Thomas, Charles Thomas, Wayne Thomas, Richard Dwyer and Deray Wean.
Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
