Washington Baptist Annual ‘Spring Event’

On Saturday, April 20, as a part of the Fodderstack Race festivities the Washington Baptist Church will be holding its annual Spring Event. The church will be selling plate lunches, hot dogs, baked goods, drinks, plants and trees, and various “treasures” from members garages and storage closets. The event begins at 10 a.m. and will run untijl 2 p.m. The money raised will be used to support the ministry of the church. “All are encouraged to stop-by, browse, have a cup of coffee or eat lunch with us, and enjoy the people and spring of our county,” said a church spokesperson.

Phobias Seminar To Be Held

Phobias are now the nation’s number one emotional disorder. A seminar on phobias, panic and anxiety attacks featuring Jerilyn Ross, a nationally respected authority on phobias will be held at Primavera Treatment Center located between Warrenton and Culpeper on April 12. Jaycees To Meet

The Rappahannock Jaycees will meet on Thursday, April 18 at Brambles. The social hour will begin at 7:30 and the meeting at 8. All members and interested persons are urged to attend.

Sheep Dog Handlers Clinic

The seventeenth semi-annual sheep dog handlers training clinic will be held at Sunnybrook Farm in White Post on April 10 through 14. Jack Knox, a Scotsman now living at Lexington will be the instructor. The clinic will start at 9 a.m. each day, have a lunch break around noon and continue until 5 p.m. or later.

Advanced dogs and/or advanced handlers will work on the 10th and 11th and intermediate and novice dogs on the 12th, 13th and 14th. The clinic is limited to 20 dogs per day.
