John Stanton Weaver, Sr., 86, of Blue Ridge Avenue, Washington, died Saturday, April 6 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
A native of Boston, Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late Mark Lyle and Alberta Josephine Fishback Weaver. His wife was the late Grace Wayland Weaver.
Mr. Weaver was a retired fanner and a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Boston and the Washington Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Penaranda of Griffinsburg; one son, John Stanton Weaver, Jr. of Arlington; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Hontz of Front Royal, Mrs. Dicie Thornhill and Mrs. Beatrice Butler, both of Boston.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper by the Rev. Steve Scoggin assisted by the Rev. John Warren. Burial was in Washington Masonic Cemetery.
