David Fischbein placed first in pole vaulting with 10’. “David started jumping at 10 feet after all of the competition was eliminated,” Spieker said. “He cleared that and then quit due to bad weather conditions.”
James Dennis placed first in the high jump with 5’6”. “James had a very good height for the first meet,” Spieker said. Dennis also placed first in the 400 meter run with a time of 56.5. “He was looking very strong tin the race,” Spieker said.
The mile relay team of Dexter Freeman, David Fischbein, Ricky Shaw and James Dennis finished first in the meet. “This was the most exciting race to watch as James went stride for stride with a Manassas Park runner in the final leg to pull ahead at the end,” Spieker said.
Matthew Frye was first in the shot put with 33’1”. “Matthew missed first place by inches,” Spieker said. Other second places were: David Fischbein in the high hurdles with a time of 18.0, Ronnie Atkins in the mile run with a time of 5:02, Jeff Fudd in the triple jump with 37’1” and the two mile run with a time of 11.11. “Jeff had not done this event last year and it looks like we have a star beginning to shine,” Spieker said.
The 400 meter relay team of Keith Stonebreaker, Dexter Freeman, Terry Jordan and Jeff Fudd placed second with a time of 51.7. David Fischbein finished second in the 300 meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 44.7.
Dexter Freeman finished third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 47.4. Fourth place finishers were: Jeff Fudd in the long jump with 1771/2” and in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.0, Ricky Shaw in the high jump with
