Visual Artists are invited to submit two-dimensional, black and white images to the 1986 Rappahannock Artists’ Calendar Project, sponsored by RAAC. The 1986 calendar will center on the theme “The Land And The People Of The Blue Ridge.” Both non-representational and representational work are welcome.
Please bring ready to hang work to Middle St. Gallery on Friday or Saturday, May 17th or 18th between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m.
The calendar images will be selected by a jury of three professionals in the arts: William Gaines, former director of the Institute of Contemporary Art and Educational Programs at the Virginia Museum and adjunct faculty member in painting and museum education at Virginia Commonwealth University; Meredith Rode, professor of Drawing, Painting, and Art History at the University of the District of Columbia and a professional painter and lithographer who exhibits at the Foundry Gallery; and Douglas Teller, painter and printmaker, professor of Fine Arts, George Washington University.
The work must be ready to hang in order to insure proper viewing by the jury.
The selected images will be exhibited May 25 and 26 at Faith Mountain’s Crafts Fair, if weather permits. Pieces not selected should be picked up by Sunday, May 26 at 4:00 p.m.
